"Don't you say that honey; that's the way Jay is. I've
watched him operate before. I worked in one of his offices, back
when he was in Denver. After six weeks he and his partner, a guy
called Bob McCarty, still hadn't come up with my pay check."

"Yes, I've met Mr. McCarty."

"Heaven forbid, honey, he's a real snake."

"I only met him once at a cocktail party in Minneapolis."

"I hope I never see the bastard again because, honey, he
just used me, and Jay just let him do it all to me.

"I'm beginning to think that maybe Sandy is here in Atlanta.
The last two days I've hardly seen Jay. He hasn't slept here for
the last two nights, and I don't think he's going come back
tonight."

"Well, honey, he's not here."

There was something very definite in the way Rebbeca made
that statement that made Julie query, "How do you know that?"

"Because, honey, I know where he's been hanging his hat."

Julie just looked at her with an unbelievable expression on
her face.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but he's been sleeping
with that bitch Collen; she would sleep with anything in pants."

It was about ten o'clock the next morning before Jay arrived
at the hotel. When he came in, Julie was eating breakfast in
bed." "Have a nice time?"

"Yeah, it was all right."
