When Julie said she was going out. Jay just said, "See you
later." He then picked up the phone and dialed Sandy's number
direct. He was happy he had done so, for Sandy seemed very happy
to talk with him. He told Sandy she should come to Atlanta, that
it would be a lot of fun if she were there; but Sandy said she
thought not at the present time. She said that maybe soon though
she would come for a weekend. When Jay hung up, he was glad that
he had called.

He had been lounging around the room when Julie returned
from her shopping. He began to think about Collen: maybe
she had returned home from her shopping. He would shower and
shave to go to her place since it was already four o'clock. By
the time he got dressed and fought the rush hour traffic, it
would be time for them to go to dinner. When he was leaving at
five thirty, Julie asked if they would be having dinner together.

"No, I won't be here for dinner or, for that fact, probably
the evening. See you later, babe."

It was too much for Julie to take. She was furious; she
thought she would like to just pack her suitcases and take the
next plane for Minneapolis. She called Rebecca and asked if she
would join her for dinner. Having received an affirmative
answer, Julie went into the bathroom and started to put her
makeup on.

It was six forty-five before Jay arrived at Collen's.

"You took your time getting here. The concert is starting
at eight."

"So no problem. We go to the concert, and then dinner."
