"When will we be in Atlanta?"

"It won't take very long, since I'm going to drive straight
through."

It seemed almost like being at home when they arrived. It
was Jay's part of the country because he had been born in North
Carolina. The south was easy to deal with, even though he didn't
like it. The Sheraton had a double room on his reservation that
he had made from a public phone booth to avoid any hotel along
the way having a record of the call.

As he opened the door, Julie thought it was strange that
they had only a room instead of a suite. They had stayed in
double rooms, but that had been during travel, and it just seemed
natural then. She thought, well maybe since the company wasn't
paying anymore, that must be the reason. But she thought it
better not to ask.

After Jay had showered, he went to bed; it seemed that was
the way things were when you drive alot.

When they woke up it was early evening, and Jay started
telephoning many numbers. Julie knew they were local calls from
the conversation. When he paused she said, "You know a lot of
people here."

"Sure, I do. That was my brother; we're going to his house
for dinner. Then we'll drop in on some of my other relatives."

"I didn't know this would be a family convention. Are you
sure I won't interrupt anything?"
