"Yes, and give it to me as soon as you have it." Now he
knew what was up with Diane. He wondered what
Sandy had said to Diane. It would be interesting to know.

When Jay walked into the apartment, it was apparent that
Sandy was wasting no time. She had all her luggage sitting in
the entrance, and she was dressed for travel. "Well it seems
that you have made your plans."

"Yes, my flight is at six thirty. Do you have my ticket?"

"Yes, I had it picked up at the office. Have a drink? I
feel as though I could use one."

"Sure, I'll have a drink, and call a taxi."

"Don't you want me to drive you to the airport?"

"I never did like to say good bye like that, and it's not
necessary. Besides you will have to return to the office in a
short time.

"I might come to see you down there in North Carolina pretty
soon."

"That would be nice but I hope you get your things straight-
ened out here first. My cab is here, and he's taking my luggage
down. So I'll say bye, and I hope you will be all right; I still
love you," she said with her southern twang as she kissed him
lightly on the cheek.

It was seven before Jay went to take a shower; he just kept
thinking, whoow, she's really gone. It seemed very hard to
believe that Sandy was really gone; it seemed as though they had
