"That's, of course, your kind of language."
"That's about a thousand dollars for your weekend of doing
nothing all."
Jay's voice blasted down the line; Schroud knew that Jay
had gotten completely out of control. Yet the business was
great, that couldn't be denied., and Jay was the founder of
the company. "Well, maybe we should have
lunch, and talk things over. I'll call you back."
Jay banged the phone into its cradle, as Tom asked mildly,
"What does he have to say?"
"He wants to have lunch. When I mentioned the forty orders
he almost choked. That's probably twice what the people wrote in
Minneapolis." Jay began to laugh. "You want to go to lunch with
Schroud and me, Tom?"
"Sure I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world."
"I really don't know why everyone is so concerned over who
I'm getting it on with." Jay shook his head as he sat down at
his desk to look over the order, and the proceeds.
"Tell Ripley to come in on your way out, Tom. Hey man, you
got my Master Charge card?"
"Sure, I took care of everything."
"How much was the hotel bill?"
"Well, for the nine rooms and your suite the bill was just
over eleven hundred."
"Hell, that is a lot."
"Well, we did have the two parties, and we paid all bills."
"Oh fotget it; I don't care. Just give me my card. Is
Julie in your class?"
