"O.K., Ripley, call all the rooms, and have everyone join us
for breakfast."
Jay was up fast and, feeling like he was a mile high, began
to sing a song. Then he broke off into a love song that he
had written for a girl he once loved. At this point Ripley
arrived. Letting him in. Jay asked, "O.K., man, how many orders
did we get yesterday?"
"There were seven in total, but one don't look good. I
think the credit stinks. Never worry we will approve anyone
all we want is the client's business"
"Don't worry; we'll be all right. I just want you to try
and out perform that today. Send some of the new people who are
ready out to do it. If we get something, fine; if not we won't
lose anything. I want Julie to go out on her own today as well;
in other words, my boy, I want everything that can write for me
to write. Today I want a dozen deals."
"That's heavy man."
"Hell, we should get it. With these people out here on the
road we should be able to make it with no problem."
"O.K., that's what I'll push for." Ripley paused then
added, "It's actually a surprise not to see Julie here."
"Bull; you would have been surprised if she were here."
"Good morning, everyone; glad to see you. Today is the big
day. This is when each of you get the opportunity to go out on
your own. I have great faith in all of you, and believe all of
you will do well."
