On the
way to the suite Julie and Jay walked side by side.
Julie wanted to say something but it seemed she could find no
words.
"Well,
my young beautiful friend, I do think we made all the
right choices. You really look smashing."
There
was Julie"s chance. "Oh, yes, thank you. Thank you
very much for everything."
The
cocktail party had been a success; Bob had closed
several deals with his clients. Julie was very impressed with
all the people in the suite and the gracious service from all
the
uniformed service personnel running around and offering drinks.
"Julie,
I have an early day tomorrow, so shall we go and
leave all these people to their madness?"
"Oh,"
Julie replied, "They're lovely."
"Hey,
Bob you will excuse us, but we must make way. Take
care of my boy Tom there." He could see that the girl with Tom
was more than being friendly.
"Sure
thing. I'm so very pleased that you were able to come
tonight. It was nice to meet you as well, Julie."
"It
was my pleasure, sir."
In the
car to Julie's house hardly a word was spoken even
though the air was light. It was more like it had been a very
long and big day. At Julie's place. Jay stopped the car at the
entrance of a rundown building. Extending his hand, he shook
hands with Julie, "Good night, my dear, I hope you've had a
nice
time. I'll see you tomorrow in the office."
